The Delavenne Group have been logistics and transport specialists for over 35 years. Three warehouses store a range of products, from agricultural, food and industrial products to high value-added products including cosmetics, alcohol and electronics. Besides storage and transhipment, the family-owned business provides additional services such as packing, order preparation and e-commerce.
The fourth site in Peronne is home to the transport business including the fleet consisting mainly of curtain side trailers. The acquisition by AB Texel France specifically involves the transport business of Delavenne Transports and includes 27 employees, 24 trucks and 36 trailers. AB Texel France shares the premises in Peronne.
AB Texel France specialises in the transport of agricultural products, both bulk and general cargo. Roughly 80 employees work every day to provide customers in France with the best logistics services. They accomplish this using a modern fleet of over 65 trucks complete with trailers.
CEO Nicolas Delavenne explained, “We are looking to focus more on our logistics business. For transport, we sought a solid, reliable company which could provide continuity to our customers and employees. We have found the ideal partner in AB Texel France.”
Tom De Lange, managing director at AB Texel France and Belgium, is delighted with the expansion in France. “You need to be a certain size in order to serve our customers' every need. We are aiming not only to do more business with our existing customer base, but also offer capacity and flexibility to new customers. This acquisition makes that possible. What's more, the Peronne site is located right at the heart of where we operate. I wish to extend a warm welcome to all the new staff.”
AB Texel France is part of AB Texel, a major international player in agri, food and special transport. Following the takeover, AB Texel will employ around 2,950 people while its modern fleet numbers some 1,780 trucks and roughly 2,950 trailers.
