At AB Texel, safety is paramount. Zero accidents is our ultimate goal. Our focus on safety is evident in, among other things, our choice for modern A-brand trucks. These trucks contribute to minimising risks on the road. Our Academy allows us to offer ‘AB Move on’ customised training courses. This provides our drivers with access to the right knowledge and skills so that they can work safely.

Modern, safe trucks from premium brands

At AB Texel, working safely is imperative. A vital component in achieving this is ensuring the availability of high quality resources and equipment. Our drivers always drive modern equipment, often new. We maintain, renew and optimise our fleet continuously, ensuring our fleet always complies with the latest safety standards and requirements. The new DAFs have an extra window on the passenger side that is equipped with a perforated, one-way vision film layer. This window improves visibility and reduces the blind spot. At the same time, the film offers the driver increased privacy. Our trucks are fully equipped with the latest technology and all modern comforts.

AB Move on – customised training courses

Having skilled, professional staff is important to us – after all, they are the face that we present to our clients. Work at AB Texel is very varied, with each type of work requiring a different set of knowledge and skills. For this reason, all of our training courses are customised to fit the tasks that our drivers perform. These courses are run by our own AB Move on Academy.

We have developed specific training courses for every type of trailer – from belt bulker trailers and bulk tankers to walking floors, tippers, inloaders and tankers – that are fully focused on AB's activities. For example, this means that we don’t have general Code 95 lessons, but instead a targeted training day where drivers have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and practice loading and unloading. We aim to provide training that our employees learn a lot from and enables them to get better at what they do.

At AB Texel, we create short e-learning items and videos that include work related tips and tricks. We share these training courses with colleagues on a regular basis, keeping the knowledge level high in an accessible way. The drivers in special transport are specifically trained in compliance with the safety requirements that apply to construction sites (VCA). AB Texel Special Transport also has the Safety Culture Ladder certificate (step 2).
