Family business Bakker & Schilder Transport B.V. (https://bakker-schilder.nl/) specialises in flower bulb transport, full and part loads, international transport and storage and cross docking. The company has a solid position in the agricultural sector. In addition to transport, the company provides associated services such as cross docking, order picking and loading and unloading of containers. To facilitate further growth, managing directors and owners Henk and Piet Bakker wanted to join up with a major player with a scope and culture similar to their own company in Noord-Holland. AB Texel will acquire all the activities of Bakker & Schilder Transport including the more than 90 employees , 55 trucks and 66 refrigerated trailers, box body trailers and curtainsiders. The current board and management team will remain at the company. The activities at the existing sites in 't Zand, Andijk and Utrecht will continue.

Following this acquisition, AB Texel will have around 2,900 employees and a modern fleet of more than 1,750 trucks and about 2,900 trailers. AB Texel also works with 150 regular subcontractors
